Cover - Mexico
May 5, 2008 7:47 am Covers, Folk Pop, SinglesEvery now and then I really love recording other people’s songs. This song, by Cake, is an old favorite. I taught it to myself ages ago while still living in Russia, and I have to admit it kept me going through some pretty dark winters.
This one I recorded and posted in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Viva Mexico!

Great version of this beautiful song! Thanks for posting. I downloaded it immediately to have this one in my iPod.
I still think of this as one of your songs, since you do such a heartfelt, authentic version of it, and besides, I’d never even heard of Cake when I first heard you play this, one night in front of the fireplace in New Mexico…

Me neither! ..heard of Cake, until just now. I’m very much looking forward to hearing this song, and all others too, of course, some day when I will finally figure out, it will happen!, how to tap into/ down-load/ call forth SOUND from this otherwise perfect computer! In the meantime I devour every word and feast on all the pictures you post. And in my mind’s ear and my heart’s memory I can very clearly hear both you and Jonathan singing and doing music. You guys rock!!!
