Site upgrade, and a brief manifesto

1. From mountain rocks to music to web sites to the human character itself, everything grows smoother over time. Time shaves off the rough edges and wears down the points until you have a smooth stone, a flawless album, a niftier site, a better person.

2. I object to the poster I saw today that read: “Come out of your shell and express your true self”. It was for tooth straightening. Forget that shit, the whole thing!

3. Everything creative, whether musical project, computer game, site or service, or even a person’s behavior, is in essence just excreting that which we’ve absorbed. In my music you hear basically everything that I’ve heard and loved and taken into myself. I’m still not entirely clear why I like recording it, putting a frame around it, and trying to shove it in front of people, but there you go.

4. I suspect that no one really knows what they’re talking about or what’s going on, but we’re all daft for people who act like they know.

5. Your definition of “work” will tell you a lot about who you are.
