The album’s here! An honest-to-goodness professionally-replicated CD. They look amazing!
If you’ve been following the site for awhile you’ve probably seen the different songs here grow and take shape. Well, they’re done now, and I want you to have it. As always, you can download everything I do for free from this site. You can download the completed album right now, in fact: Free Download of “Mostly About Ferns.”
But if you want to get your hands on a real CD (packaged in fold-out digipaks of recycled paperboard with a recycled plastic tray) you can support my work and buy a copy. It’s easy. You go through PayPal on the pay-what-you-want model, with a low-key incentive tossed in. Here’s the deal: these CDs come shrinkwrapped, but if you give $20 or more for a CD, I will open the shrinkwrapping and autograph the CD for you, or for whomever you wish. Just imagine! An autograph, by the guy who made the album!
Mastered editions. This is the album formerly known as “Seedy”, now officially called “Mostly About Ferns”. CD replication will begin shortly, and I should have the finished discs in about two weeks. Pretty exciting stuff! The pic below is of artwork by KT Williams, aka the wonder monkey, who’s handling the lettering and design for the album (and also came up with the new name, incidentally). Collaboration is a lot of fun, and it’s always fascinating to see other people create with or to my music. It is endlessly interesting for me to watch how much deeper and more significant things become when shared.
For convenience, today’s post collects all six songs from my latest album, tentatively called Seedy. I’m working on getting the album professionally mastered and commissioning album art from KT the wonder monkey, and then I’ll have it pressed and ready to distribute. Of course I will also replace these ‘home’ versions of the songs with the mastered versions when I have them, and as always you’re free to download to your heart’s content. The practical upshot of all this is that I’m starting work on a new album (yes, another one), so between this new project, rehearsals for the gig, Morgan’s album, and commissioned songs, you’ll have lots of new material to check out on this site in the coming weeks!
